1,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards Points When You File Your Taxes with TurboTax

with No Comments

TurboTax and Southwest Airlines have once again teamed up to offer 1,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points to individuals who file their taxes through TurboTax.

We all have to file our taxes, why not get something for the effort?

Get Those Southwest Points

I’ve taken advantage of this deal the past few years, and it couldn’t be easier.

Simply log in to your account on the Southwest.com webpage and look for the deal in the Earning Points link under the Rapid Rewards dropdown menu at the top right of the page.

Or, head to the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Shopping portal and find the TurboTax deal link there.

And, as with any shopping portal link, once you click the specific deal’s link, you’ll be taken to the site – in this case TurboTax – where your purchase will automatically be registered and the points deposited to your account once the purchase is confirmed.

TurboTax has a variety of tax preparation software (online versions) from which to pick.  And the prices run from FREE to $89.99 (currently a discounted rate – may increase)

And, yes, the 1,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points will be awarded on TurboTax’s Free Edition as long as application requirements are met.

The quick and dirty on the requirements are:

  • The filing must be made between Wednesday, January 3, 2018, and Tuesday, April 17, 2018, after clicking through the offer on Rapid Rewards Shopping® and logging in to be eligible.
  • Eligible only after a tax year 2017 completed federal tax return is filed during the Bonus Period.
  • Federal tax filings made using TurboTax CDs, TurboTax Freedom Edition, TurboTax Live, downloaded products, or in-app purchases are not eligible for the bonus offer.  Must be via the online versions.

This is an easy way to grab 1,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points.

The hard part is remembering to take advantage of the deal when you finally get around to completing your taxes!
